Who's Wren? (he/him)
Wren Rusić is a queer, twenty-something sagittarius who's passionate about the indoors. He tries to write whenever and wherever he can, working on something he thinks no one is probably ever going to read. Wren can usually be found avoiding twitter suspension or lusting after online personalities. In his spare time, Wren likes to paint. While suffering a mental breakdown, he also likes to write poetry.
My Bio
Wren has always been fascinated by high fantasy and has been writing novels since he was 12. Besides writing, he's also a poet and occasional painter. Wren was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, and is of Indian descent. Wren happens to be fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
Wren completed his master’s degree in English literature at McMaster University in 2022, and minored in creative writing at the University of British Columbia in 2020. Wren previously taught as a TA at McMaster and currently teaches English and creative writing as a college professor in BC. He is also pursuing a PhD in diasporic literature at Simon Fraser University.
My Work
Wren has planned and written novel series throughout his adolescence and early 20's, though none have been published. While pursuing education, Wren grew fond of poetry and authored his first chapbook as part of his creative writing degree. Wren followed this passion during his master's program when he authored an additional chapbook concerning the gentrification of Vancouver's Punjabi Market.
In fiction, Wren is most interested in high fantasy and romance, as well as YA and new adult genres. While fantasy has always been Wren's genre of choice, he is slowly warming up to contemporary settings as well. Currently, Wren is submitting his debut novel, Kiss of the Sea God, for representation.
